ZWRv2 Top 20 Amiibo Trainers
10/8/2017, 2:33 am
First topic message reminder :
● Tournament data was collected from July 8th - September 30th
● Tournaments are now being ranked by:
- Amount of entrants, every five trainers that enter = 1 point
- Amount of top 10 trainers, every top 10 trainer that enters = 1 point
- Amount of top 20 trainers, every top 20 trainer that enters = 0.5 point
- Amount of prizes, one prize = 3 points
After all of the points are added, they get multiplied by 100 to get their ranking.
Here are the tournaments that were ranked throughout the season + every trainer's rankings:
https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/1jF6qoGpxNcvBUM1E4c2ff3PeIz6sSxAYrljLZ0cCfrA/edit?usp=sharing
● Also here are the points needed for an amiibo tournament to be ranked:
- D tier (lowest ranking for an amiibo tournament) if a tournament has an overall score below 300 points then it is ranked D tier.
no points are given in these tournaments, only wins and losses are recorded.
- C tier (low ranking amiibo tournament) if a tournament has an overall score of 300-599 points then it is ranked C tier.
trainers that place 5th-1st are given points: 5th-1 point, 4th-2 points, 3rd-3 points, 2nd-4 points, 1st-5 points. wins and losses are recorded.
- B tier (moderate ranking amiibo tournament) if a tournament has an overall score of 600-999 points then it is ranked B tier.
trainers that place 5th-1st are given points: 5th-30 points, 4th-40 points, 3rd-50 points, 2nd-60 points, 1st-70 points. wins and losses are recorded.
- A tier (high ranking amiibo tournament) if a tournament has an overall score of 1000-1999 points then it is ranked A tier.
trainers that place 5th-1st are given points: 5th-80 points, 4th-90 points, 3rd-100 points, 2nd-110 points, 1st-120 points. wins and losses are recorded.
- S tier (highest ranking amiibo tournament) if a tournament has an overall score of 2000 or above then it is ranked S tier.
trainers that place 5th-1st are given points: 5th-160 points, 4th-170 points, 3rd-180 points, 2nd-190 points, 1st-200 points. wins and losses are recorded.
● Also, the six biggest amiibo tournaments that happened throughout the season had their points doubled.
● The XFactor on the player cards is subjective data, that was created by the panel through a survey. It's the panelist opinions on where amiibo trainers should be ranked. ex. Blakers has an xfactor of -2 meaning the combined opinions of the panelist thought he should be ranked at #3.
● Another thing is that trainers receive two separate scores: one for their tournament placings and another for wins and losses. After their scores are finalized, the average of these two scores becomes a trainers overall score, which determines each trainers ranking.
Ok now let's take a look at the top 20 amiibo trainers!

The -14 X-Factor hurts. Ow.
And Zeno, were the top 10/top 20 win/losses counted into overall score?

Is there a particular reason LAME#3 RR isn't counted? Roster rounds are a better test of skill to be fair.

Well I didn't want to count it because whoever won that would have got a huge boost in their score because of all the wins.

Here's what I suggest for next season.
-Pick a list of tournament series. Those are all 'sanctioned' events, and count towards the PR. Anything else doesn't, and all tournaments in those series count.
-Maybe explain that the top 20/10 MUs didn't count towards the score?
-Take number of tournaments entered into account. Normal PRs tend to exclude people who did well, but entered too few to be considered.
And just more of a personal thing, maybe change up the X-Factor? Like the -14 hurts, but if I just saw a '7.9' or something there it might not have. Maybe just add up all the results and find the mean, put that there?
