First topic message reminder :

Rules:

  • Doubles
  • Single Elimination
  • 3 Stock (6 per team), best of 3, no time limit.
  • No Smash Ball
  • No EPS
  • No Macs
  • All matches will be played on Battlefield.
  • S and A Tier Amiibo cannot be paired with S or A Tier Amiibo (S/A + S/A = NO; S + B = YES; A + C = YES)
  • You can send 3 teams. This may expand later, but for now only 3 teams. I hope to get 50-60 teams in this tournament.
  • Stats must be legit (Equal 120 or less)
  • Amiibo will not be saved this time.
  • Seeding will be randomized, but I will modify a few (if necessary) so you do not face yourself in the early stages of the tournament.

Send Amiibo to josef.santos12@yahoo.com

Challonge Bracket: http://challonge.com/xAAA2/

UPDATE: A few entrants were rule-breaking (No S/A + S/A Teams), thus I added a few of my non-A/S tiered Amiibo as partners to allow those entrants to compete. More info is in the description on the Bracket. These new teams are entered without any prior experience with each other. No training was implemented. I solely wanted to keep the tournament relatively large and at least give the Amiibo that were entered a chance. On a more positive note, the tournament is starting!

Total Teams: 37

Round 1, Part 2
MaskXP's Green Machine def. Blue's #2 Power (6-5, 6-2).
Gambino and Mama Luigi faced off at the end of Set 1 with Gambino coming up on top. Fang racked up a total of 1145% at the end of the game. It was remarkable to see that number coming from a fox. On the other side, LivingLike was able to set Mama Luigi up nicely by holding them in place for a well-powered smash attack. In the end, it was Gambino stealing the show and coming back from a 1v2 to take the first set. Mama Luigi lost all 3 stocks before anyone else lost one. He blew it for his team this round. After stealing two stocks from his partner, and losing them, Gambino and Fang had 5 stocks to LivingLike's 1. LivingLike took one, but there was no coming back from the deficit his partner left him with. Green Machine will face Beauty and the Beast in their Quarterfinal Matchup.

Blaker's Beauty and the Beast def. Arklaine's Decepticons (6-2, 6-4)
The Decepticons looked to be no match for Blaker's DK. Rosalina racked up a ton of damage while DK's Side Smash resulted in multiple KOs (2 kills, 1 Smash Attack... TWICE). DK ended with 16% after the first round. The Decepticons were never able to get on the same page, resulting in separation and deaths in the second round. They're strong and were able to take Rosalina out a few times, but it looked like Blaker's match to win.
Beauty and the Beast will face the Green Machine in their Quarterfinal matchup.

Xenowars' The Counter Smashers def. Cyrox's Wandering Warriors (4-6, 6-4, 6-3)
This was back and forth the ENTIRE TIME. It was hard to see who was going to come out on top, until the final stocks. Xunkha was the MVP though of this set. He had at least 1 counter in each match, and in the final set, that was the turning point as it resulting in 2 KOs. It was a fun one to watch for sure. The Counter Smashers will be facing the Dreamland Busters in the next round.

xVantonage's Dreamland Busters def. BladetheCheetah's Gold and LuigiPool (6-4, 6-5)
This felt like a match between LuigiPool and Herohom. More often than not, it looked like Kirby and Pikachu were trying to get back to the stage. Herohom looked good in this matchup. He used his range pretty efficiently to keep things in their favor. LuigiPool made some awesome saves, like falling off one side of the stage, Side+B + Up+B (underneath the stage)  to make it back on the other side of the stage. In the first set, LuigiPool last for 1 minute and ~30 seconds when Gold died and left him in a 2v1. In the second set, Gold and LuigiPool took HeroHom out first. Luckily for the Dreamland Busters Kirby still had 2 stocks. Herohom shared a stock and they proceeded to knock out Pikachu who shared a stock from LuigiPool leaving him at 1 Stock 180%. Herohom took out LuigiPool while Gold took out Kirbstomp. The face off between Herohom (~60%) and Gold (180%) was quick and expected. Dreamland Busters will be facing The Counter Smashers in the next round.

xAverage's Senpai and Roy Toy def. Arklaine's The French aMiiBros (6-4, 6-1)
Roy Toy and Senpai held true to their game one strategy of spamming Side B. But the French aMiiBros are no slouches. Gaston packs a huge punch. His aerials and smashes made big moves in KOing his opponents. Coupling that with Frollo's Counter and Up Smash, they caused a lot of problems for Senpai and Roy Toy in the first set. The tides were turned when Senpai's Neutral B Broke Frollo's Shield and KO'd Gaston. Senpai and Roy Toy both charged up Side Smashes and knocked Frollo out for the Set 1 Victory (6-4). In the second set, Senpai and Roy Toy looked unstoppable. I think they learned that they could outrange the aMiiBros. They finished the set off 6-1 ending with 158% on Senpai and 114% on Roy Toy. They will be playing against Pokepuff in the Pre-Quarterfinals.
Gaston should not have been using aerials  :LOLZ: . But GG regardless.
Haha, that's what Battlefield is doing to these guys! Those damn platforms are messing with them! On the plus side his only aerials resulted in KOs lol. Also, my fools never punished them lol.

Round 1, Part 3
xAverage's Excalibur and Mordecai def. Asuna and J. Michaels (4-6, 6-4, 6-4)
Asuna is a BEAST. Future Fitness took a quick lead in Set 1 when Asuna and J. Michaels forced Excalibur and Mordecai towards the edge of the stage. It took a while before they could get their footing and show they're contenders. And by a while, I mean they both died once and barely hit Future Fitness. They were able to get something going once they separated Asuna and killed J. Michaels. Towards the end, Asuna had 2 Stocks, while they both had 1. It looked like they had a chance when J. Michaels didn't instantly share stock. But once she did it was lights out for Set 1. Set 2 looked great, yet again, for Future Fitness. Asuna knocked them around like they a dog in a ball pit. Again starting down 2 stocks, Excalibur and Mordecai pulled it together. They stayed almost on top of each other preventing future fitness from gaining any momentum. Mordecai and Excalibur were able to knock out J. Michaels then 2v1 Asuna for a Set 2 victory. Set 3 started unlike the other 2 had. Future Fitness was down 2 stocks. Asuna was struggling to get momentum as Excalibur kept J. Michaels knocked away leaving Asuna in a 2v1. Down 4 Stocks to 2, Future Fitness tried to get things under control. With some clever moves by Asuna, she brought them back to a 2 stock tie. In the end, a big counter from Excalibur KO'd Asuna and left J. Michaels in a dreaded 2v1.

MaskXP's Berserk Knights def. Hihahaba's PK Power (6-4, 6-3)
Thorne was definitely living up to his name. In both sets, it was pretty tame until Thorne was let loose. He truly went berserk handing KO after KO to the Blue Striped Shirt matching Ted and Tad. Bowser is a tough one in doubles, I think. For some reason, Amiibos can't seem to dodge his slow Side Smash. And it packs quite a punch. The Berserk Knights will be facing Excalibur and Mordecai in their Pre-Quarterfinal matchup.

Xenowars' Technical Tag-Team def. Hihahaba's Weird Rodents (6-4, 4-6, 6-4)
I felt like each set was something completely different. One set Angel Dude (Dark Pit) took over. Another Sportachu. But the common factor in all three was that it was complete mayhem. Everyone jumping and flying around. It was messing to be frank. If I'm being 100% honest, these two teams looked like their owners just wanted to throw another team in so they grabbed 2 random Amiibo and called them a team. There was barely any cohesive play with these two teams. For Technical Tag-Team, I hope they can muster something up in the following stages, or they're going to be sent packing quick.

Keethkon's Boi and Kenji def. Nicknural's Elizabeth and Mario (6-4, 6-0)
6-4, followed by a 6-0. What else can I expect from Boi, the Mac Killer. Along with Kenji, these two powerhouses annihilated Elizabeth (Rosalina) and Mario (Villager). I almost felt sad when it was just Mario left against those 2 monsters (6 stock to 1). They proved to be a frightening team moving forward.

Round 1, Part 4.
Hihahaba's Cool Sword Dudes def. Blue's Average Animals (4-6, 6-3, 6-4)
Reyn (Shulk) definitely stole the show by taking 5 of the 6 KOs in Set 1. Mozilla was fighting very hard, but it's difficult to win the match when you don't have many good KO moves between you and your partner. In set 2, these "average" animals proved to be nothing of the sort. They kept finding them selves in favorable spots and taking out 2 of Reyn's stocks fairly quickly. Mozilla's speed and dodging allowed him to making catch his opponents off guard and secure the kills needed. In set 3, it was pretty back and forth all the way to the end. Reyn was alone in a 1v2 against the Animals. I nicely timed side-smash took care of Mozilla. But in the end, he couldn't get the job done as Courage finished him off.

Keethkon's BootyPlug and Kobayashi def. MaskXP's Team Duckio (6-3, 6-3)
BootyPlug and Kobayashi looked unstoppable. Team Duckio looked like they were just getting tossed around until BootyPlug and Kobayashi felt like finishing them off. It was an impressive showing for this pair. I look forward to see them when the contenders slim down a bit more.

BTC's Friend's Williams and xAverage's iRobot def. Arklaine's Muscular Headbands (4-6, 6-3, 6-4)
For two guys who haven't played together, they sure played well in that first set.  They were able to rack up high amounts of damage and separate their foes. iRobot's Ranged Smash attack definitely helped secure kills. He was able to get all of the 6 in the first set. In the second set, the Muscular headbands separated their foes and fought 1v1 and 1v1. They outmatched them easily and won that set. In the 3 set, Williams and iRobot started down 3-6, but again using Mega Man's Smashes, they made a comeback to a 3stock-2stock lead. AFter Williams got knocked out, it was up to iRobot to keep them in. But a well-timed grab by Greil Jr. into a Side Smash by KAMIKAZE!, it was game over for iRobot and Williams.

xAverage's Miss Fit and Dorf def. xVantonage's Jack and Jill (6-2, 6-0)
Jack and Jill, though a neat named pair, didn't look much like fighters. The poor villagers went up against a monster in Dorf (Ganondorf). They were easily outclassed in this matchup.

The Muscular Headband Bros love to wombo combo, lol. It's their niche.

I was quietly rooting for my Mega Man, but that wombo combo was so beautiful.
