Duck Hunt Amiibo help 2 Empty Duck Hunt Amiibo help 2

6/28/2016, 4:46 pm
Now that I got Shailow, my dog to stop using aerials altogether, now im facing a different problem. The problem is that she is not shielding at all, not matter what I try, I have tried using the clouds guides for being defensive, Looked around the internet how how to improve her being defensive. nothing worked (I'm stuck on a new 3ds and a Wii U so the amiibo 15 text guide could load so that didn't help and the audio guide keep on skipping to the last ten seconds). if anyone could help, I would be thankful.
(Just for helping she acts passively even though I didn't teach her to do it, and yes, I know I know that duck hunt being passive is better, but I want to try something new) (Sorry if I came off rude or mean while trying to ask for help.)

I think the problem you're facing here is that your Duck Hunt is trying to "read" their opponent.

I've found a couple methods that are actually quite useful for fixing this.

-Handicap your Duck Hunt to 200%, and have them face Lv.8 CPU's. This teaches them that they have to shield in order to keep surviving.

-Work around the problem, have Duck Hunt run around and throw projectiles.

-Face Duck Hunt yourself and use the Timer Method or Slow Smash to block their attacks. This one is tedious, but it definitely works the best.

Hope this helps! If you have any problems, lemme know.

Now she is offensive while still using the shield, she's taking down my best amiibo.
I will probably post a replay soon so you could see it in action. (I really don't know at this point if she is good enough for tournament play though...)

If you had asked this question a couple of months back, I wouldn't have believed you. I'd have said to just keep blocking, over and over again. But recently, I had this problem with my Pac-Man amiibo. He wouldn't use his shield at all, in spite of multiple defensive training sessions where I focused on perfect shielding.

The key is to equip yourself with Explosive perfect shield and Easy perfect shield, so that whenever you block, it deals damage to your amiibo. This will help send a signal to your Duck Hunt that it can benefit by blocking. Try this method, if it doesn't work, let me know!
