The Flim-Flam Flamboyant Flaming Faultering Failure Factor Empty The Flim-Flam Flamboyant Flaming Faultering Failure Factor

Ok, so, before I even say anything else, yes, I know, Roy is almost unfixable, however, "almost" does not mean "completely", and I have no other Amiibo that outright show complete flaws such as this one does. So, I may update this thread from time to time, but right now, his two biggest problems are the fact that he can't use Double-Edge Dance correctly, or shield correctly.

With Double-Edge Dance, he either misses, gets interrupted/punished, or just flat-out does not finish the move.

As far as shielding goes, I've done every method that comes to mind, but he just seems to ignore the fact that he has a shield.

My main goal for Roy has always been for him to be able to beat Marth Amiibos with ease and consistency (or you know, anyone else for that matter).

Thanks for your patience. This is frustration for me too.

(HERE, I'll give ya some info on the red-head blunder.)

As a person who knows a ton about Roy, I can say with full confidence that Double Edge Dance just isn't that great of a move. Yes, it has more damage potential than Marth/Lucina's, but at the end of it all, you can't even maximize that damage if you can't connect all the hits.

Not only that, but Roy has a huge blind spot on his back while he's using this move. So literally all you have to do to punish him is roll behind him while he throws this out, and Roy can't do anything about it because the ending lag on that move is just enough for his opponent to at least get a grab or quick tilt in. You can also just sit there and just block, and if he tries to stop while using it, the end lag from before is still there.

If you're looking for a good punishing option, teach him ftilt out of shield. Much safer, and does a ton of damage when the sweetspot connects.

Shielding wise, I think it might just be best to replace one of his customs with Easy Perfect Shield for now. At least until he can get the hang of getting perfect shields consistently. Helped mine out a lot.
