7 Important Things To Not DO in a World Map!
2/7/2013, 1:30 pm
I decided to upload a guide of what not to do in a world map.
1. SMW and SMB3 tilesets can mix pretty well on a world Map, however, they don't mix together in one island. For example, SMB3 grass with SMW Grass clashes badly. If the tilesets are recolored with the same patlette, it won't clash.
2. To make levels playable on the world map, simply name it any level on the level selection. But, let's say, for an example, you named a level "Star Blast Galaxy.lvl". (Made By Kazzoo)However, in the world map you accidentally name it "Starry Blast Galaxy.lvl". The level does NOT have any connection with the original.
3.Be sure to test the level before placing and playing it on your project. Editing the level while you're on the world map causes it to dissappear. If you use the cheat "illparkwhereiwant" ,(if you don't, unlock any level while playing the dissappeared level), and he appears again.
4 .Be sure to NOT make the black on the map appears on gameplay.
5. Be sure to place scenery! It gives the world map a helping hand!
6. Do not overcrowd the map with scenery, as this can take away the desired effect. SMB3 style linear scenery placement does not count as this unless it used in very large amounts.
7. When using paths try to hide them with scenery so it isn't as obvious which way the path is going to go when it opens up.
Well, I hope it helped you guys!

I would agree with clash as would anybody, however I have two things to add.
1. Do Not overcrowd the Map with scenery, as this can take away the desired effect. SMB3 style linear scenery placement does not count as this unless it used in very large amounts.
2. When using paths try to hide them with scenery so it isn't as obvious which way the path is going to go when it opens up.
