I am sorry but this doesn't fit with smbx. It could be usefull for a kinda bonus level. But if you could make those graphics 16 bit they will be very awesome :)

A small amount of cleaning up could really make these NPCs really good. I might try it on the Goomba because it would be very interesting to see how it turns out. However, if someone made the rest of the NSMBDS GFX including the playables then I think it could work on its own, without editing.
