Sound Replacements
1/2/2013, 6:25 am
Basically I have tried to replace the raccoon mp3 by placing the 8 bit version in my episode folder, but unlike the GFX it does not replace what I need it to. Does that mean you have to replace the mp3 in the sounds folder of SMBX to get it to work?
If so, how would I go about keeping the 8 bit version in the episode when I distribute it, would users who download my episode also have to replace the raccoon mp3 as well?
Thanks Squishy.

I've seen this done before, so I'm pretty sure it's possible.
Remember, it must match, like graphics. This includes the name and file type, but fortunately I don't think it includes the length.

Yes I have seen it in Super Talking Time Bros. 2, with the SMW Goal fanfare, that is mainly what interested me, but I can't see how Spoonybard actually did it.
Thanks Jayoshi, I will try replacing the default sound and see what happens!

I am trying to make a SMB1 Death sound, but I am having trouble. The name and file type are the exact same as the player-died file.

Watched it, didn't understand it. Also, one level up there SEVERELY bugs me.

Thanks Mudkip, it wasn't completely clear at first, but watched it again and tried it and it glitched a couple of times but it did work.
Guys if you want to replace world map music, then make a folder with the same name as the map and copy in the mp3s and replace them as the same music you want them to replace! I thank Darkchao for showing me that with his new Birthday Demo.
