Smash 4's strongest possible attack
on 3/24/2017, 5:20 pm
Smash 4 has a lot of things that are dangerous. A Little Mac amiibo with 200 attack points, critical hits and an attack tradeoff is generally where most people would draw the line. A good hit can deal over 200%, which would easily wipe out anything that gets hit.
Of course, that won't really do when you're looking for the limit. Using data from the Smash Wiki, here's what I managed to find. Customs are "allowed", so long as it's still within the range of what's possible within the game itself.
The one doing the attacking will be: Shulk.
The attack will be: Vision (50% damage cap)
Now for the multipliers...
On the attacking Shulk's side:
It would be a level 50 amiibo (1.5x damage dealt)
It's using the Monado Arts for Buster. (1.4x damage dealt)
It would have +200 attack points (2x damage dealt)
Critical Hit capability is the first bonus effect, and it triggers (3x damage dealt)
Desperate Attacker bonus effect is active (1.7x damage dealt) (Attacker is implied to be at 100% or higher)
Desperate Specialist bonus effect is active (1.5x damage dealt) (Attacker is implied to be at 100% or higher)
Now for the one getting attacked:
Shulk using Jump from his Monado Arts (1.22x damage taken)
3 Air pinata bonus effects active (1.4x damage taken) (Implies the target is in the air)
200 defense points (2x damage taken)
Total multipliers for the damage is...
1.4 x 2 x 1.5 x 3 x 1.7 x 1.5 x 1.22 x 1.4 x 2 =109.75608 times normal damage dealt.
Calculating that the damage of the attack itself was 50%, multiply that by the previous multiplier we just found...
5487.804%
Smash 4 would likely round that up to 5488% if it could go to such numbers. Ultimately, it would still go to 999% damage, but it's fun to know just how powerful an attack could get.
Do you know anything I missed that could make this attack more powerful?

Counters max out at 50% damage, which is then affected by multipliers. The 1.3x damage multiplier which the counter uses only applies up to that 50% strike we're using.
