A Request for Tournament Hosts

on 1/23/2017, 4:55 pm
Those of us that are unable to host tournaments appreciate those of you who are able. That said however, I must ask that further action be taken to inform entrants of any delays or rescheduling of the event as it seems that as of recent, news is commonly only provided after someone has asked about the situation

I agree. Perhaps tournament hosts that are pressed for time should host smaller tournaments that can be completed in a day or so? And/or actually make plans a few days to a week ahead to carve out enough time to host AND finish a tournament. This is what I did when I was hosting my own tournaments, and each one was completed in a day.

I also note that @xAverage and AmiiBrawl who, despite hosting large tournaments, were able to finish each one of their tournaments at a good pace and time because of the free time they were able to make for themselves.

If the host finds that they will not be able to finish their tournaments on schedule, they should at LEAST post daily (or every two days) that they won't be able to continue the tournament that day. It's much more appropriate and respectable instead of having irritated trainer (like me) ask consistently on how the tournament is going and if it will continue.

This is what I think on this subject. Maybe CERTAIN tournament hosts can follow this process?  :le babby:

I agree with this, why host a tourney if you can't finish it? Especially knowing Nick has been active on Twitter. As for GameMasta, I don't trust him as a host due to him giving me the excuse that I sent faulty .bins two times in a row when that's never happened with me anywhere else.(Plus he doesn't randomize brackets, so......)

Yeah, that was basically the entire point of BOAT 4.

I may try to host one this weekend, so keep an eye out!

Yea, sorry I've been away.  My Wii U's taken away because my siblings were bad, and I will be on the computer (the device I am typing with) much less until I get my Wii U back. Like I said on the GMAT 5 post, I will get back to it as soon as I can. It's not that I've been busy, it's just that I haven't had access. I may have access again sometime in 1-2 weeks, depending on if my siblings are good or not.
Don't worry, they got their toys taken away too, but since they find something to do no matter what, I'm at the bigger loss...

Glad to hear that others had some of the same feelings as to the state of things that I do. Also, @GameMasta97 , my condolences on the sibling situation
